John W. Farley Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, joyfully lived his life to the fullest until his passing on May 22, 2025, at Mercy South in St. Louis. Born on January 31, 1947, in St. Louis to the late Ernest and Juanita Farley, John was a remarkable individual whose warmth and generosity touched all who knew him. A true adventurer at heart, John embraced a variety of hobbies that reflected his vibrant spirit. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and riding in dune buggies, and he loved to tinker in his garage, often spending precious moments helping his son with different projects. However, the pastime that brought him the greatest joy was undoubtedly the time spent with his grandchildren, whose laughter and smiles filled his life with happiness. John's willingness to lend a helping hand to others was a testament to his kind nature, and he was always there for friends and family in times of need. His legacy of love and support will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Ada Rosetta “Pennie” (Pyatt) Farley; and one brother, Jack Farley.
John is survived by his children, Wanda Zaleski and husband Ray and John Wesley Farley, Jr., all of Imperial; grandchildren, Christopher, Jack, Troy, Wesley, Samantha and Timothy; three great-granddaughters, Emma, Rowan and Rosalie; other family members and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Reverend Mike Barton will be officiating. Interment will follow at Leadwood Cemetery. John will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those he touched. Let us come together to celebrate an extraordinary life well-lived.
