John Alfred Jones

John Alfred Jones of Ironton, Missouri passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends on July 9, 2025. He was born December 16, 1973 in Farmington, Missouri the son of the late Alfred Harold and Betty Jean (Warren) Jones. He was 51 years old. John was a 1992 graduate of Arcadia Valley High School. Upon graduation he attended the University of Missouri at Rolla where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a Philosopy minor. He then attended the University of Missouri at Columbia and obtained a Master of Library Science (M.L.S.). John worked as the Head of Technical Services for Ozark Regional Library for twenty-five years until his health forced him to retire. He loved his job and was a very dedicated employee. John loved language and storytelling. His love of language was exemplified by his proficiency with proofreading, his very exact use of words, and his teaching himself the basics of the Japanese language in his spare time during his college days.
