John "Yonko" Smith

John Kay Smith, known to many as "Yonko", passed away May 31, 2015 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town and Country, Missouri at the age of 64 years. He was born on May 6, 1951, the son of the late John Donald and Hazel Belva (Dane) Smith. On May 25, 1991 he was united in marriage to Ruth Barnett who survives. Also surviving are two children; Bryan Smith and Dustin Smith, both of Irondale; one brother; Ronald and wife Frances Smith of Fredericktown; two sisters: Patricia and husband James Sims of Caledonia and Delores Morey of Cambridge, Illinois; a brother-in-law George and wife Kathy Barnett and a sister-in-law Tammy Barnett both of York, Pennsylvania; Mother and Father-in-law George and Ruth Barnett of East Berlin, Pennsylvania as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. John was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Smith and a twin brother, Donald Ray Smith.
