Joseph Francis Diaz, age 87, of Bonne Terre, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Parkland Hospital in Farmington. Joseph was born on Saturday, January 19, 1935 in St. Louis to the late Julio and Eloina (Menendez) Diaz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth (Lelfer) Diaz; daughter, Sandra Lambert; son; Jerry Vent; two daughter in-laws; Barb Vent & Lana Lambert; and son in-law; Augustus Lewis.

Joseph proudly serviced his country in the United States Army. He retired from US Bank formally Mercantile Bank after 45 years as a trust & security vault manager. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Blues, but his real passion was spending time with his family and all of his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his loving children; Wayne Lambert, Linda Lewis, Curtis (Unice) Lambert, Nancy Lambert, Dennis Lambert, Denise (John) Guzman and Dina Diaz. Joseph was truly blessed with 118 grandchildren including great and great-great grandchildren. Joseph will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 5pm until 8pm at CZ Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Visitation will resume Monday, June 13, 2022 until 10:30am. A graveside service will follow with  Pastor Michael Barton II officiating at 11:30am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or American Heart Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of CZ Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
