Mr. Joseph Francis Smith passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at his St. Joe Manor residence, Bonne Terre, at the age of 85 years, 8 months & 28 days. Joe was born May 30, 1925, in Coffman, MO., & was the son of William A. and Rosina 'Gegg' Smith. Also preceding were: a son, Eugene J. Smith (1976); a sister, Catherine Wolk and 3 brothers: Glennon Smith & 2 brothers, in-infancy.
Joseph was a World War II US ARMY Veteran and member, Knights of Columbus & St. Joseph Catholic Church, Farmington. He was a member of LePere-McCallister American Legion Post #416, Farmington & a carpenter for Jennings Lumber Co., Farmington, for many years.
Survivors Include: his wife, Rose Marie 'Klein' Smith, of Farmington; 1 son, John Smith, of Oakville, MO. 1 daughter, Marian (& Robert) Weismiller, of St. Charles, MO. 1 brother-in-law, Robert Klein, of Ste. Genevieve. 5 grandchildren: John (& Anne) Smith, Jr., Marcus (& Kelly) Smith, Bobby Weismiller, Alyssa Weismiller and Jake Weismiller. 1 great-grandson: Evan Joseph Warren Smith. Also surviving, numerous nieces; nephews; family & friends.
Visitation : Thursday, 5-8 p.m. with a ROSARY @ 7:00 pm. Visitation resumes Friday morning, 6:30 - 9 am.
Funeral Mass : Friday, 10 am, March 4, 2011
at : St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fr. James Dyer officiating.
Interment : New Calvary Cemetery, Farmington.
Memorials : Masses preferred &/or to: St. Vincent dePaul Society.
