Joshua Cash, 28, loved son, brother, father, and friend, left this world too soon on October 2, 2026.
Joshua was born in 1997 in Missouri. He spent his childhood in Illinois. Joshua loved all creatures great and small. He always cared for a menagerie of insects, reptiles, and animals throughout his life. There wasn’t an insect he couldn’t catch, a reptile he wouldn’t beg to own, or an animal he didn’t try to have as a pet. Besides this love of all living creatures, his love of other nature was unmatched. Joshua wanted to care for every plant & climb every tree. He enjoyed learning all about them from a young age. A bonsai tree, given to him by his grandfather, was his favorite tree of all. He spent many hours making sure it had all it needed to thrive and grow strong. One of the proudest moments in his life was becoming an ISA Certified Arborist. He was fearless in his many climbs up tall trees and passionate about their care.
Joshua had many interests. He was a talented painter, spending many joyful hours painting Warhammer figures. His other interests included jewelry and watch repair, physical fitness, hosting Dungeons and Dragons nights with friends, and playing Magic: The Gathering. He loved a good audio book and rock music to relax. Joshua’s boisterous laugh, sense of humor, and compassionate heart will be missed by all privileged to know him.
Joshua is survived by his parents, Dan and Lisa Cash and Rob and Jennifer Queen; two sisters, Kelly and Emily; one brother, Seth; a beautiful daughter; as well as numerous other family who deeply mourn his loss. Joshua was proceeded in death by a grandfather whom he adored. “Death ends a life, not a relationship.” - Mitch Albom
Final arrangements will be available at a later time. Information will be disclosed through family.
In lieu of flowers, consider donating to The Morton Arboretum of Lisle, IL at give.mortonarb.org. You could also water a plant, care for an animal, or maybe hug a tree. Joshua would be thrilled!
