Jovata Jo Stone

Jovata Jo Stone, age 91 of Marquand, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the ClaRu DeVille Nursing Center in Fredericktown. She was born on August 26, 1930, in Patton, Missouri to David R. and Opal Alice (Billington) Heitman. On August 10, 1951, she was united in marriage to Cecil Eugene Stone, he survives in Marquand. Other survivors include: one son - Mark (Shelley) Stone of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother – Donald (Sara) Heitman of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter-in-law – Mary Stone of Florissant, Missouri; eight grandchildren – Catie, Matthew, Shane, Scott, Jessa, Trevor, Renni and Jake; twelve great grandchildren; wonderful sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son – Allen Stone; one sister – Hannah Warner and one brother – David Heitman. Jovata was a third-grade teacher at Robinwood School in St. Louis and substitute at Meadow Heights and Fredericktown Schools after retiring. she enjoyed quilting, reading, working crossword puzzles and flower gardening. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted on this website.
