Joyce Marie Rother

Joyce Marie Rother of Ironton, MO passed away October 5, 2014 at her residence at the age of 71 years. She was born May 12, 1943 in Valley City, IL to the late James Clayton and Dolly Eunice (Holland) Higdon. On April 10, 1980 she was united in marriage to Ralph Rother who preceded her in death on April 1, 2009. In addition to her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter; Marie Adams, her three grandchildren; Brian Adams, April Adams, and Anthony Adams and two brothers; Robert Higdon and Fred Higdon. Joyce is survived by three sisters; Donna and husband Don Hull of East Alton, IL, Mary Scharth of Alton, IL, and Shirley Pointer of Indianapolis, IN, two sister-in-laws; Joanne Higdon and Patty Higdon, a special niece, Sarah Hackethal, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joyce was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked for O.V.C.S. for many years. She was a good seamstress and enjoyed doing alterations. She also loved flowers and gardening.
