Joyce White

Joyce White, 84, of Desloge, passed away February 13, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born July 29, 1938, in Mitchell, to the late Floyd and Jessie (Sedgewick) Dunn.  Joyce was a member of United Assembly of God Church in Gumbo.  She was an avid reader and loved to sing old gospel hymns.  In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and watching “The Price is Right.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John White; great-grandchildren, Kloey and John; siblings, Mary Sellers, Elwood Dunn and LeRoy Dunn.

Joyce is survived by her children, Theresa Cottom and husband Jay, Jerry White, Cathy Bourisaw, Carrie Radford and husband Dennis; eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; sister, Barbara Thompson; in-laws, Patsy Radford, Burman (Anna) White, Midge Dunn and Fred White.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  The visitation will resume, Friday, February 17, 2023, at 9:00 AM until the service time of 11:00 AM.  Brother Danny Adams will be officiating, assisted by Leslie Dunn.  Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery in Frankclay.  Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Ronald McDonald House.
