June Cathryn Thurman

Mrs. June Cathryn Thurman passed away early Thursday morning, September 8, 2016, at The Villas, in DeSoto, MO., at the age of 81 years, 2 months & 18 days. June was born on June 20, 1935, in Flat River, Missouri. Preceding-in-death were: her mother and step-father : Osa Bernice 'Emily' Decker and James "Red" Decker. A son, Michael Thurman; a son-in-law, Daniel Finch; 3 brothers, Wayne Brewster, Pete Brewster & William "Bill" Lurk. Also preceding in death were: Ronald Thurman, Oscar & Nina Thurman.

June & her husband, Ronald Thurman, built and ran the Empire Speedway in Farmington.

Survivors Include: 2 daughters - Cathy 'Mrs. Paul' Pilliard, of Crystal City, MO & Karen Finch, of Farmington. A sister, Phyllis (& Jerry) Lodholz, of Bonne Terre. A brother, Jim (& Arlene) Brewster, of Paradise, TX. 3 grandchildren: Heather Pilliard, Jamie (& Crystal) Aubuchon, and Sean (& Ann Marie) Thurman. 3 great-grandchildren: Candace, Morgan & Jackson. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation : Saturday, 1-2 p.m., Sept. 24th

Memorial Service : Saturday, 2:00 p.m., September 24, 2016
