Karen Suzette Martin

Karen Suzette Martin, age 65 of Ironton, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on June 12, 1957, in Fredericktown, Missouri to Leslie Milton and Myrtle Mae (Perry) Schaefer.

On January 18, 1992, in Madison County Missouri she was united in marriage to Robley Carl "Robbie" Martin, he preceded her in death on October 25, 2006.

She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law – Jessica & Alan Jennings of Fredericktown; one stepdaughter - Jennifer Thacker of Benton, Kentucky; three brothers – Leslie "Bud" Schaefer (Nora) of St. Louis, Missouri, Bill Schaefer of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Gerald Schaefer (Sharron) of Hennessey, Oklahoma; one sister – Betty Wright (Bob) of Fredericktown; one granddaughter; - Aubree Jennings; significant other – Drew Hamilton of Annapolis and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one stepson - Christopher Martin and two brothers.

Karen was housekeeping supervisor at Baptist Home in Ironton where she retired in January 2020; she enjoyed life and was a wonderful cook, especially baking pies; her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
