Katharine Penfield

Katharine “Kay” Penfield, 86, of Farmington passed away August 22, 2022 at NHC Healthcare in Desloge. She was born April 4, 1936 in Bridgeton, New Jersey to the late John and Helen (Tilton) Earnest. She was a member of the Covenant Bible Church of Farmington. Kay was an employee at Wal-Mart for 25 years, working at both Farmington and Desloge stores.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Penfield, Sr.; brother, John Earnest and wife Rose; brother-in-law, George Haaf.

Kay is survived by three children, Glen Penfield, Jr. and wife Mary, Kay Knox and husband Randy, David Penfield and wife Tina; twenty grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Haaf. Many nieces, nephews, other family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Serenity Hospice or American Heart Association.
