Kathleen Louise Bowlin of Annapolis, Missouri passed away December 27, 2024 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 97 years. She was born September 13, 1927 in the Hyatts Creek area, the daughter of the late Ira Hamilton and Permelia Emaline (Lewis) Lorentz. Kathleen was always a hard worker. She was very outgoing and enjoyed meeting new people. She was a great Mom who worked hard as a single parent to raise her two sons. She was the owner and operator of Kathleen’s Steakhouse in St. Louis long before women were business owners, especially in the man’s world of running a restaurant and bar. She enjoyed gambling, going to Las Vegas, and even bought a racehorse. She loved to travel so that she could see new places, meet new people and make new friends. Kathleen is survived by her son Randy Neighbors of Annapolis, Missouri, her brother: Alfred Lorentz of Annapolis, Missouri, her grandchildren: Randy Neighbors (Danielle), Christina Moore (Joe), Kim Thompson, Julie Dowell (Archie), Connie Stahlhut (Andy), Tom Neighbors, A.J. Neighbors, and Billy Neighbors, numerous great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband: Tom Bowlin; her son: Clural “Gene” Neighbors; two brothers: Haskell Lorentz and Herbert Lorentz; her sister: Juanita Cozine; and her daughter-in-law: Terri Neighbors. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Pitchers officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hyatts Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hyatt’s Creek Cemetery or the Firefighters’ Association.
