Kenneth Walter Townsend of Ironton, Missouri passed away November 18, 2018 at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill, Missouri at the age of 85 years. He was born January 24, 1933 in Belleville, Illinois the son of the late Walter and Mathilda (Cange) Townsend.
On June 25, 2004 he was united in marriage to Dorothy "Marilyn" Collins who survives and resides in Ironton. Also surviving are his three sons; Timothy Townsend and Mark Townsend both of Illinois, David Townsend of Delaware, a step daughter, Teresa Robinson and husband, Osagie, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one step granddaughter, and two step grandsons. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael.
Ken served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ironton. Ken worked as a traffic and transportation dispatcher for the Coca-Cola Company. He enjoyed car mechanics and had a huge collection of antique model cars. He also enjoyed going to gun shows and watching westerns on TV.
