Larry Kinsey

Larry D. Kinsey, 66, formerly of Desloge, passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2022 at his home in Lake City, Florida. He was born May 27, 1956 in Farmington, Mo.

He is survived by his mother, Francis (Goad) Dalton; daughters, Andrea Kinsey and Amanda Caldwell (Eddie); his four grandchildren who were the apple of his eye, Ella Kinsey, Aubrey Cannon, Aria Cannon and Ezra Caldwell; siblings, Steve (Nancy) Kinsey,  Hank (Janet) Kinsey, and Susan Campbell; many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Kinsey; sister, Marsha Hartinger and brothers, Claude and Michael Kinsey.

Larry attended Bismarck High School before enlisting in the United States Navy in 1973. While in the service, he spent time in San Diego, CA and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI. He then spent many years in Missouri overseeing exterior home construction projects throughout the state, including with his company Exterior Home Solutions.  Most recently, he was working with the Aerospace company, HAECO Americas, in Lake City, Florida.

Larry never met a stranger and had established lifelong friendships spanning many states. He was a passionate supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Shriners.  Most recently he was an active member of VFW Post 2206, American Legion Post 57, and American Legion Riders Chapter 57 all of Lake City Florida. In earlier years, he dabbled in sprint car racing and was a Nascar fan.  He enjoyed boating and all activities involving water sports. Above all, he cherished his Harley rides and motorcycle trips, whether in leisure or mission, and time spent with friends that became extended family.  He will undoubtedly be remembered as the life of the party, instigator of shenanigans, and loyalty without limits.

A Celebration of Life will be held September 2, 2022 at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, with full Military Honors at 3:30 PM. All are invited to gather at the VFW in Desloge immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memoriam are suggested to the VFW and American Legion.
