IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laura Diane
Gray
August 24, 1948 – February 1, 2026
Laura Diane Gray passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born on August 24, 1948, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to Richard and Claradine (Hays) Hill.
Diane married the love of her life, Jackie Dale “Jack” Gray, in December of 1969. Their marriage of 44 years was one marked by devotion and love until Jack’s passing on February 25, 2013.
She leaves behind her children, Tara Jacquelyn Gray, Moriah Cheyene Gray, and David Bryan Gray; stepsons, Keith Gray and Brad (Kristie) Gray; and her treasured grandchildren, Kyra Nemec, Hazel Gray-Bretz, Nevaeh, Nolan, and Noble DePew, and Sarah, Aaron, Dustin, and Emilie Gray; sisters, Janet (Kenny) Denison and Jeannie (Bruce) Currington; half sister, Tabitha Hill; sister-in-law, Carrie Hill; and brother-in-law, Dennis Currington; along with many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews who were dear to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; stepdaughter, Kelly Lea Gray; sisters, Donna Carpenter-Resnik and Judy Green; brother, Joe Hill; sister-in-law, Vera Jo Currington; and brother-in-law, Billy Gray.
Diane grew up as the oldest of six siblings in a home full of love. She cherished her family deeply, and those close bonds remained strong throughout her life.
Diane spent her working years in service-oriented roles, including healthcare and hospice, offering compassion and support to those she served. One of her greatest joys and most meaningful contributions was her work with children at First Baptist Church of Farmington, where she faithfully served for more than 35 years.
Above all, Diane was most proud of her children and grandchildren. Tara first made Diane a mother, and Diane took great pride in her, supporting her through all seasons of life. Diane later found joy as “Mimi”, creating cherished memories with her granddaughter Kyra through zoo trips, pool days, and plenty of ice cream. She devoted herself to creating a loving and secure childhood for Moriah and David, always ensuring they felt supported and cared for. Diane was honored to become Mimi once again, helping Moriah care for her children and delighting in every moment spent with them.
Diane lived her life anchored in faith. Just as she lovingly and sometimes insistently brought her children and grandchildren to church, she would want to be remembered the same way: making much of Jesus and pointing others toward Him through her words, her service, and her life.
