Laura Linora Thurman

Laura Linora Thurman of Ironton, Missouri passed away February 28, 2019 in Farmington, Missouri at the age of 93 years. She was born November 16, 1925 in Hogan, Missouri the daughter of the late Drew and Bertha (Govero) Smith. On October 22, 1942 she was united in marriage to Raymond Thurman who preceded her in death on February 12, 2002. To this union four children were born, Charles Thurman and wife, Judy of Canton, Texas, Mark Thurman and wife, Carol of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Paula Qualls and Roger Thurman who both preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were two sisters; Drucella Smith and Maudrie Ballwin and her brother, Bennie Smith. Laura is survived by six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Laura was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Ironton. She was a 1943 graduate of Annapolis High School. She was a member of the VFW Auxillary and the Order of the Eastern Star Lesterville Chapter.
