Lee Ann Wilfong

Lee Ann Wilfong was born October 1, 1958, in East St. Louis, Illinois and was welcomed to heaven on September 14, 2026. She was the daughter of Earl and Leola (Bowling) Ames, who preceded her in death, along with her brother Richard and her sister Sandy.

Lee Ann was united in marriage to Vernon Wilfong on February 1, 1985, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and service. She was the loving mother of Megan Wilfong and Tracy (Kurt) LaBruyere, and the proud grandmother of Malachi LaBruyere. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Gary) Lee, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Lee Ann’s faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She was a devoted member of Leadington Free Will Baptist Church, where she served in countless ways. She was a Sunday School teacher, church clerk, pianist, choir member, and leader of the women's ministry. She also served for many years on Free Will Baptist boards at the district, state, and national levels, and worked most summers at the MO State FWB Youth Camp, teaching kids about Jesus. Her commitment to the Free Will Baptist Association was a significant part of her life, and she gave generously of her time, talents, and energy to the church and the people she loved.

Lee Ann had a gift for making things happen. She was organized, a wonderful planner, and a talented writer. Her sharp wit could bring a smile to those around her, and her laughter was unforgettable.

She also had a gift for making people feel cared for through the simple things. She was a wonderful cook and could always be counted on to bring something delicious to a church potluck. Many memories of Lee Ann will undoubtedly include something good to eat and, of course, a glass of iced tea. She especially enjoyed Christmas programs at church and frequently wrote the programs herself, combining her creativity, organization, and love of the church into something others could enjoy.

Above all, Lee Ann treasured her relationship with Jesus. Her faith shaped the way she lived, served, loved, and cared for others. The legacy she leaves is found not only in the work she accomplished, but in the people she encouraged, the lives she touched, the meals she shared, the songs she played and sang, and the joy she brought into so many lives.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume, Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Reverend Roger Hogan will be officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Leadington Free Will Baptist Church “Building Fund”.
