Leola B. Archer

Mrs. Leola B. Holmes Archer passed away Monday, August 16, 2010, at her Manor Grove Nursing Facility residence in Kirkwood, Missouri, at the age of 98 years, 11 months & 4 days. Leola was born on September 12, 1911, in St. Francois County, Missouri, and was the daughter of Alfred D. Holmes and Julietta Straughan Holmes. Also preceding-in-death: her husband, William Howard "Bill" Archer (1990); a son, William H. Archer, Jr.; two sisters: Thelma Julietta Holmes and Dorothy Ramsey; a brother, Gordon Holmes and a granddaughter, Melody Kay Archer-Newberry.

Leola was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington. She was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association and a past member of the Shriner's Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors Include: a daughter, Suzanne L. (Mrs. Allen) Gill, of Carbondale, Illinois; a daughter-in-law: Evelyn Archer, of St. Louis. A brother, Gerald D. (& Jeanne) Holmes, of Kansas City, Missouri. Three grandchildren: Jason (& Cara) Gill, of St. Louis; Ryan (& Alison) Gill, of St. Charles; Merrily Archer (Mrs. Lance) Eberhart, of Denver, CO; Six great-grandchildren: Benjamin Archer-Newberry; Matthew Archer-Newberry; Carly Archer-Eberhart; Sophie Archer-Eberhart; Sophie Archer-Eberhart; Natalie Gill and Rileigh Gill.

Visitation : Thursday, 5-7 p.m.

Funeral : Thursday, 7:00 p.m.
