Leona Mae Allen

Leona Mae Allen of Arcadia, MO passed away April 6, 2014 at the age of 83 years. She was born May 7, 1930 in Sabula, MO the daughter of Virgil and Alma (Lewis) Hughes. On October 20, 1951 she was united in marriage to Lynn Allen who preceded her in death on December 30, 2005. To this union two children were born; Kenneth Allen who preceded her in death and Dorothy Allen of Ironton, MO. Also surviving are four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a brother; Robert Hughes of Denver, CO, two sisters, Eunice Snyder of Ironton, MO, and Ruth Stallsworth of Doniphan, MO, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Leona was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Hughes and a sister, Dorothy Russell. Leona retired after 20 years of working as a cook for the Signer Senior Center. She loved to sew and had made and donated 727 children's quilts to various organizations. She also liked to cook and bake bread. She was a member of the Ironton First Church of the Nazarene.
