Lloyd Franklin Mooney Jr. passed away on August 21, 2015 in Des Peres Hospital at the age of 91 years. He was born on January 4, 1924, the son of the late Lloyd and Lucille (Thacker) Mooney.
On December 2, 1942 he was united in marriage to Mavis Rose (Akers) Mooney who survives. To this union three children were born: Kathy Mooney of Acton, California, Dree Krafft of Largo, Florida, and Michael Mooney who preceded in him death. Lloyd is survived by his brother Alan Mooney of Canoga Park, California; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Lloyd served our country in the United States Army during World War II before being honorably discharged in 1945. He then worked at a school teacher in the Los Angeles City Schools as a high school English teacher, Social Studies teacher and golf coach.
