Lorraine Edna (Hicks) Rice went to be with her Lord and Savior early Monday morning, October 28, 2019. She was only 100 years and 233 days old, born in Roselle, Missouri on March 8, 1919. She was fond of saying that a neighbor, Clora Smith, said that "on the day you were born there was a snow on the ground and the peas were coming up." Her mother Esta (Stall) Hicks and father Jesse Hicks had a farm in Roselle which Lorraine enjoyed with her brother (C.L. "Pete" Hicks) and two sisters (Boneta Rust and Vera Pogue Cramer).
February 18, 1938 Lorraine married Earl Hudson Rice and they had three children: Joy Lynn, Charles Hudson and Donald Arthur. Earl passed away September 22, 2014.
Anyone who knew Lorraine (including multiple grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, and the multitude of other friends) knew she loved flowers.
