Louis "Louie" Otto Lucas

Louis “Louie” Lucas, 62, of Park Hills, passed away October 15, 2018 at Parkland Health Center in Farmington.  He was born on March 6, 1956 in Ironton to the late Robert Lee “Tadpole” and Audrey (Helvey) Lucas.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Junie and Charlotta Lucas and Tone and Rose Helvey; sisters, Rosalie Lucas, Charlette Lucas Hartley; and brother-in-law, Billy Ray Hartley Sr., and sister-in-law, Cindy Lucas; brothers, Larry Joe “Catfish” Lucas and Robert Dale Lucas; and cousin, Bill Helvey.

            Louie was a licenced State Farm Insurance Agent for 35 years, twenty of those years being in Park Hills.

He taught and coached baseball at  DeSoto High School. He was an all state basketball and baseball player for Bismarck. He was inducted into the Bismarck Hall of Fame on September 8, 2017. Louie played basketball and baseball at Mineral Area College and baseball at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR.

            Louie enjoyed coaching, teaching, was an accomplished golfer. He also enjoyed following Reid’s sports, along with all local sports, especially with Central Rebels.

             He is survived by his only son, Reid Lucas (Sara Duckworth) of Park Hills, MO; step-son, Colby Scott; brother, Wayne (Sally) Lucas of Corpus Christi, TX;  Aunt Alma Jean Pinkley; cousins, Betty Bradley, Jerry Helvey, Keith Helvey; Grant Pinkley, David Pinkley, Margaret Pinkley Cantrell; nephews, Bill (Tammy) Hartley, Chris (Michelle) Lucas, Jeff (Deanna) Lucas, Nick Lucas, Jason (Katherine) Lucas and Larry Lucas; nieces, Connie Hartley (Todd) Semonite and Debbie Lucas all survive. He is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and will resume on Monday, October 22, 2018, from 8:00 AM until service time of 11:00 AM at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with Rev. Tim Gray officiating    Interment will follow at Bismarck Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MAC Foundation.
