Louise D. (Schilli) Schmidt,67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at her residence in French Village, Missouri. She was a beloved wife, to her husband Bill Schmidt. Louise was born on, Sunday, October 27, 1957, in Perryville, Missouri to the late Edwin A. and Anna J. Griffard Schilli.

Louise spent many years serving as a secretary for the Department of Corrections in Farmington, where she retired after 20 years leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. 

Louise was a passionate and avid Purple Martin watcher, finding great joy in witnessing their annual return each spring. She cultivated their nesting sites with love and care, reflecting her nurturing spirit and appreciation for nature.

Louise’s love extended to her beloved fur babies, Shelby, Aaron, and Buddy, who brought her immeasurable joy and companionship throughout her life. 

In her final wishes, Louise chose to donate her body to Anatomical Science at St. Louis University, a testament to her desire to contribute to the greater good even after her passing. 

Louise is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Schmidt of 41 years, with whom she shared a life filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Louise is also survived by a brother and 4 sisters, notably her sister Patricia and husband Gary Gore who were great care givers to her during her time of illness. Brother and sister in-law Bob and Jane Schmidt; special niece, Maggie Schmidt, along with several other nieces and nephews. Her warmth and kindness will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
