Lucille Gaines

Mrs. Jesta Lucille 'Wilkerson' Gaines passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 23, 2015, in Waterloo, Illinois, at the age of 98 years, 2 months & 5 days. Lucille was born on October 18, 1917, in Knob Lick, Missouri, and was the daughter of Simeon Charles Wilkerson and Laura Bell 'Hamm' Wilkerson. Also preceding-in-death were: her husband, Robert "Bob" Henry Gaines (Sept. 11, 2012); & 6 siblings - Adam (Mary) Wilkerson; Thomas (Ethel) Wilkerson; Paul (Lula Marie) Wilkerson; Gertrude (Guy) Murphy; Hazel (Ancil) Swinford & Sterling Wilkerson, who died in-infancy.

Lucille was a longtime, faithful member of Farmington First Baptist Church. She retired from Famous-Barr (now Macy's) in 1982 and after retirement enjoyed ceramics & painting.

Survivors Include : a daughter, Marilyn (& George) Santner, of Smithton, Illinois. 3 grandchildren: Keith Santner; Cheryl (& Scott) Tolan, and Stephen (& Karen) Santner. 4 great-grandchildren: Megan & Lauren Tolan; Jacob & Sophia Santner. Also surviving is a Special Friend and Caregiver, Frances Pipkin.

Visitation Starts : Tuesday @ 10:00 a.m.

Funeral : Tuesday, 1:00 p.m., December 29, 2015

at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Dr. William C. Miller officiating

Interment follows at : Doe Run Memorial Cemetery - Doe Run, MO
