Margaret Waters

Margaret E. Waters, 91, of Farmington passed away November 14, 2023 at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center in Farmington. She was born May 17, 1932 in Sidney, Montana to the late Cecil and Margaret (Menzies) Zylstra. She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington. Margaret and her late husband, Hal loved to travel. Margaret’s love of people, culture, adventure, and new experiences led to her career as a travel agent where she organized numerous group excursions to other countries. In addition to their world travels, for several years after retirement, Hal and Margaret lived full-time in a motor home volunteering in 13 national parks all over the United States.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her dear husband, Harold “Hal” Waters and one brother, Ron Zylstra.
Margaret is survived by her three children, Paul Waters and wife Janie, David Waters and wife Connie, Mary Waters; three grandchildren, Brian (Aubrey) Waters, Jeremiah (Heather) Waters, Lisa Waters; five great-grandchildren, Brady, McKenzie, Elijah, Bennett and Addy Waters; one brother, Hugh (Joan) Zylstra; one brother-in-law, Wayne (Margaret) Waters. Several nieces, nephews, other family and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. A recording of the service will be posted here after the service is complete.
Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity of St. Francois County.
