Mariann Swaringim of Annapolis, Missouri passed away February 6, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 12, 1943 in Glencoe Village in St. Louis County, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Charlcie (Lee) Yates. On January 4, 1959 she was united in marriage to Samuel Edward Swaringim Sr. who preceded her in death on December 23, 1993. They were the parents of eight children: Eugenia Wilkinson (the late Kenny) of Ironton, Samuel Swaringim Jr. (Sissy) of Hogan, Henry Swaringim (Karen) of Ironton, Mary Lewis (Sherman) of Ironton, Sarah Tiefenauer (Wheezer) of Ironton, and Pauly Swaringim (Shelia) of Ironton. Mariann was preceded in death by two daughters: Virginia Wise (the late Ray) and Rita Reed (Robert). Forty-two grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren are left to mourn her passing as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. One brother, Dan Yates of Belleview, Missouri survives. Mariann was preceded in death by two sisters: Sarah Yates and Malendia Yates, and four brothers: Charles “Tiny” Yates (Sharon), Lee Yates, Edward “Ped” Yates, and Gene Day (Margie). Mariann attended Liberty Church on Marble Creek. She loved to fish in her free time. She also enjoyed camping, sewing, quilting, and she read a lot. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cody Harbison officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday evening, February 8, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Huff Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Huff Cemetery Association.
