Marilyn June (Miller) Hulsey, of Arcadia, Missouri passed away on July 14, 2024, in Pilot Knob, Missouri at the age of 88 years. She was born June 1, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri the daughter of the late Payton and Hazel (Kurre) Miller of Oak Ridge, Missouri. On July 24, 1960, she was united in marriage to Orville Dean Hulsey who preceded her in death in 1992. To this union, four children were born: Dr. Matthew D. Hulsey (Nancy) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Melissa J. Boren of Farmington, Missouri, the late David M. Hulsey (Lisa Johnson) of Farmington, Missouri, and Mary E. Hulsey of Dripping Springs, Texas. Eleven grandchildren are left to mourn the passing of their grandmother: Brice, Brock, Calynn, Hannah, Emily, Rachel, Ethan, Christopher, Eli, Will, and Ava, as well as ten great grandchildren. Other survivors include a special cousin, Pete and Judy Miller of Oak Ridge, Missouri, several nieces, a nephew, cousins, and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, husband and son, David, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lauren Ashton Hulsey, a sister, Betty Smith and a cousin, Patsy Wand. June was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University receiving a Bachelor of Art Degree. Her career began as an art teacher for the Arcadia Valley School High School from 1958-1960. She spent her life here in the Arcadia Valley raising her family. In 1999, she sold the pharmacy, Arcadia Valley Drug Co. that she helped build with her husband, Dean, and retired enjoying time with her grandchildren and being active with her church community with activities such as rummage sales, bereavement dinners, vacation Bible school, and making apple butter. She was a member of the Arcadia Valley Global Methodist Church and the Mina Sauk women’s club. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at the Arcadia Valley Global Methodist Church. Visitation will be on July 18, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home in Pilot Knob and starting at 10 a.m. on Friday morning at the church before the funeral service. Interment will be in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Arcadia Valley Global Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Iron County Medical Center.
