It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Lorane Marler age 85, who departed this earthly life on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. She was born on Saturday, November 23, 1940, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to the late Jesse and Irene (Young) Hinkle-Lincoln.
Marilyn shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Ralph “Red” Marler, Jr., celebrating 66 wonderful years of marriage on June 6, 2026. Together they built a loving family and were blessed with two children, Keith (Ginny) Marler and Kim (Rick) Baker. Marilyn was a proud and devoted grandmother to Shane Petty (Nicole, Brooke), Brandon Marler (Amanda), Lindsay Wulf, Amanda Reeder (Lee), and Chris Reeder. Her greatest joy in later years was becoming a great-grandmother to Braxton, Brandt, Brynleigh, Blythe, Maren, Cordelia and Edith; loving brother, Ken Hinkle (Becky), special niece, Brandee Duffield, and special nephews, Doug Wilkinson, Michael Marler, and Chris Marler. She will forever be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her kindness to others, and her earnest love for life.
A proud member of Bonne Terre Church of God for over 70 years, Marilyn shared her love of God and personal ministry for children, as a Sunday school teacher and children’s church director. She enjoyed singing and participated in the Church choir. Her dedication to health care was exemplified in her career as Manager of Medical Records at Bonne Terre Hospital and later at BJC Hospital in Farmington. She was a member of the American Health Information Association, where she contributed her expertise and passion for the field. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marilyn enjoying reading, writing poetry and sharing it with her family. She joyed in the serene beauty of Fort Myers with her husband, where they often spent time collecting shells and soaking in the ocean's tranquility. Along with Marilyn parents she was preceded in death by her brother; Jesse Edward Hinkle; sister, Glenda Link.
Visitation services to honor and celebrate the life of Marilyn Lorane Marler will be held at Bonne Terre Church of God on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM until funeral service time of 1:00 PM officiant by Pastor Matt Smith. Interment will follow at St. Francios Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
Memorial can be made to the Bonne Terre Church of God in her honor, supporting the faith and community she cherished so dearly. Marilyn's love and spirit will continue to live on in our hearts, as we carry the memories of her warmth, strength, and compassion with us always.
