Martha "Marty" Counts

Martha L. Counts, 73, of Bonne Terre passed away at her home on Monday, December 17th, 2015. She was born on October 29th, 1942 in Springfield, IL to the late Joseph Grant and Helen (Hinkle) Rutheford. Marty, as she preferred to be called, worked at Wal-Mart in Desloge for 25 years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mindy Kemp; first husband, Franklin Russell Montgomery; second husband, Vurlin Counts; sisters, Jonita and Rosie; several half-brothers . 

Marty is survived by her daughters, Terri Hammuck and Shawn Montgomery; son, Russ Montgomery and wife Leslie; eight grandchildren, Bryan Sago, Brandi Pope, Hayley Barks, Monique Hammuck, Jade Hammuck, Jordan Schrade, Katie Gann, Jenna Montgomery and nine great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.  Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre with Pastor Bradford Laubinger officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park.
