Marvel Mills Logan

Marvel Logan of Annapolis, Missouri passed away June 27, 2023 in Bonne Terre, Missouri at the age of 76 years. He was born August 7, 1946 in Rockville Center, New York, the son of the late Earl and Ruth (Furhman) Logan. Marvel and his family lived in Chicago and moved to California when he was 8 years old. His father died at an early age, but his mother lived until 2009 and passed away in Encinito, California when she was in her 90's. Marvel attended the University of California San Diego where he played basketball. He graduated with a degree in History. He later became interested in Meditation and practiced with some teachers here in the United States but then left for Asia to become a monk in 1986. He spent a total of 12 years in Thailand, Malaysia, and Burma where he practiced meditation. In 1998 he came back to the United States and started traching his style of meditation based in Loving Kindness which he called Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation (TWIM).
