Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Leach, age 93 of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Southbrook Nursing Center in Farmington, Missouri. She was born on August 2, 1922 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, a daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Leora (Hendrix) Brown. On November 7, 1944 in Van Buren, Missouri she was united in marriage to Roy Willis Leach, he preceded her in death on October 2, 1995. In addition to her and husband Mary was preceded in death by her brother Ed Hendrix; sisters, Elsie Letta Johnson and Ella Mae Kitis and a grandson, Jonathan Michael Leach.
She is survived by one daughter - Carletta (Willis) Kendall of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; three sons - Arthur Isaac "Ike" Leach of Farmington and Daniel Willis Leach also of Farmington and Roy Michael Leach of Creve Coeur; four grandchildren - Joshua Daniel Leach of Stuttgart, Germany, Jessica Renee Leach of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Nicole Marie Koch of Tuscon, Arizona and Carolyn Elizabeth (Shaun) Roberts of Diana, Texas and four great-grandchildren - Callie Rene Sweeney, Katherine Elizabeth Sweeney, Hayden Matthew Roberts and Caylen Scott Roberts all of Diana, Texas.
Mary grew up in the Herculaneum area and started her working life at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. in Crystal City and later worked at the Small Arms Ammunition Plant in St. Louis during WWII. After the war Roy and Mary continued to live in St. Louis at which time their children were born. In 1957 they moved to Marquand to raise thier family. Years later Mary would travel extensively throughout the country, especially through the desert soutwest. Later in life she took up golfing and became an avid player and was always an enthusiastic fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown. Graveside services will be held at 2:15 p.m., on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Jefferson Barracks Veteran Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
