The family of Mary Lee Poinsett in loving memory announces her passing at the age of 76 years on Sunday, July 5, 2026. Mary was born to the late William S. Dement and Ruth Marilyn (Lee) Dement on Sunday, November 20, 1949.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Robert Ray Poinsett, brother William Grant Dement, great-granddaughter Hadley Aurora Henson and host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mary spent over 20 years accumulative in the medical field as a certified nurse aid, certified medication technician and home health worker. After the birth of her first grandchild, Mary retired from her medical career and helped care for her grandchildren, her family and helped friends who needed assisted living support. Mary most enjoyed spending time with, taking care of and spoiling her husband, children and grandchildren. Although she was not big on outdoor activities, she enjoyed the beauty of sitting quietly with nature and looking at the sky to see what shapes the clouds reminded her of. She had a big heart, loved loudly and the brighter the colors, the more she liked it. In her quiet time, she liked to spend time with her husband and family, read her Bible and work Sudoku puzzles. She was known in her family for her homemade pizza, fried chicken, potato salad and coleslaw. Throughout Mary’s life, she lived her God given purpose to help others and did it with a loving heart. She will be greatly missed by her loving family even though there is no doubt that she is currently with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven.
She is survived by her children: William Sean Poinsett and Elizabeth Anne (Poinsett) Henson and Spouse Rone Fredrick Henson; grandchildren: Wyatt Alexander Henson and spouse Karen Edith (Arndt) Henson and Hannah Christine (Henson) Jones and spouse Isaiah Joseph Jones and great-grandchildren: Emalyn Mae Henson, Charles Liam Henson, Wesley Elias Henson and one (1) more on the way. Mary is also survived by many loving cousins, family members and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Per Mary’s wishes, a private graveside service is being arranged under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Homes-Bryson Chapel in Pilot Knob, Missouri.
