Mary Lee Poinsett

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Lee Poinsett announces her passing at the age of 76 on Sunday, July 5, 2026. Born Sunday, November 20, 1949, Mary was the daughter of the late William and Marilyn (Lee) Dement.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Robert Ray Poinsett; brother, William Grant Dement; and great-granddaughter, Hadley Aurora Henson.

Mary spent over 20 years in the medical field and home health industry. She loved taking care of her grandkids, helping families in her community, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed putting together puzzles, playing Sudoku, and was an avid birdwatcher.

She is survived by her children: William Sean Poinsett and Elizabeth Anne (Rone) Henson; grandchildren: Wyatt Alexander (Karen) Henson and Hannah Christine (Isaiah) Jones; and great-grandchildren: Emalyn Mae Henson, Charles Liam Henson, Wesley Elias Henson, and one (1) more on the way. Mary is also survived by many loving cousins, family members, and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
