Mary K. Lewis of Ironton, Missouri passed away July 4, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 19, 1969 in Ironton, Missouri the daughter of the late Samuel and Mariann (Yates) Swaringim Sr. On June 4, 1989 she was united in marriage to Sherman L. Lewis who survives and resides in Ironton. They are the parents of three children: Dustin Lewis and wife, Shanna of Ironton, Brittany McCoy and husband, Ethan of Ironton, and Keeten Lewis of Arcadia, Missouri. Her two grandchildren; Kolton and Easton McCoy will miss their MaMa bunches. Mary is also survived by three brothers: Samuel Swaringim and wife, Sissy of Hogan, Missouri, Henry Swaringim and wife, Karen of Ironton, Missouri, and Pauly Swaringim and wife, Shelia of Arcadia, Missouri, and two sisters: Eugenia Wilkinson of Ironton, Missouri and Sarah Tiefenauer and husband, Wheezer of Annapolis, Missouri, her brother-in-law, Robert Reed of Hogan, Missouri as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia Wise (Ray – deceased), Rita Reed; and her brother-in-law, Kenny Wilkinson. Mary was a member of Liberty Church where she sat on the front pew most services. From that vantage point she could coach and correct Pastor Cody. Mary loved going to church. Many of her favorite times were spent camping and fishing with a big group of family and special friends. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and sudoku. Mary was an avid reader of romance novels before her eye disease caused her vision problems. Most of all Mary loved spending time with her family and her grandsons were her biggest joy. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church on Hwy E in Arcadia with Pastor Cody Harbison officiating. Interment will be in Huff Cemetery in Glover, Missouri. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home in Pilot Knob, Missouri. Memorials may be made in Mary’s memory to Liberty Church.
