Mary “Jane” Napier (nee Selinger) of Ironton, Missouri, passed away in the early hours of October 2, 2024, at the age of 88 years old. She was born on October 31, 1935. She was the only daughter of the late William Robert Selinger and Mary Ellen (nee Davis) Selinger. Jane was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Al Murray and Hershell Napier who she was married to from 1983 until his death in 2014. Her marriage to Hershell brought her seven step children. Jane is survived by two brothers: Robert Selinger and wife, Nancy, of Herculaneum, Missouri and William Selinger of St. Charles, Missouri, and three nieces: Annette Jostes, Rebecca Selinger, and Lynn Mueller. Cousins, other relatives, and friends are also left to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Walter Lee Pruitt who was like another brother to her, and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Selinger. Jane was baptized at Fort Hill Memorial Methodist Church and later attended the Arcadia Valley United Methodist Church. She was a 1954 graduate of Ironton High School and went on to attend cosmetology school in Farmington. She owned her own successful hair salon, Jane’s Beauty Salon, in Chicago, Illinois. Jane loved to go RV camping, boating and fishing with Hershell and friends along the Wolf River in Wisconsin. She loved animals, especially her dogs and cats. She was a member of the Arcadia Valley Eagles. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Meghan Riegerix officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Hershell in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Ironton, Missouri.
