Matthew Logan Davis

Matthew Logan Davis of Arcadia, Missouri passed away September 28, 2021, at Missouri Baptist Hospital at the age of 37 years. He was born May 11, 1984, in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the late Ezell Davis and Sandra Kay (Kelley) Davis of Ripley, Tennessee. On June 16, 2007, he was united in marriage to Tiffany Jo Benoist who survives and resides in Arcadia. To this union two children were born: McKenzie Davis who resides in the home and Michael Lynn Davis who preceded him in death on January 14, 2011. Logan is survived by his mother, Sandra (Kelley) Davis of Ripley, Tennessee; his brother: Bill Jones (Melanie) of Jackson, Tennessee and his niece and nephew, Ava and Wyatt Jones, three sisters-in-law: Mary Wadlow Bockhold (Joe Munier) of Fredericktown, Missouri, Brenda Harlan (Matt) of Arcadia, Missouri, and Teresa Baldwin of South Carolina, his mother-in-law: Carol Benoist of Arcadia, Missouri, his father-in-law: Terry Benoist of Ironton, Missouri as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Logan was preceded in death by his father, Ezell Davis and his son, Michael Davis. Logan was employed as a Sargent for the Iron County Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and he was preparing to be a trainer. He was responsible for overseeing evidence and the shooting range. He was soon to be promoted to Chief Deputy. Logan was a member of the Pilot Knob First Baptist Church. Logan loved music. He loved to play music and make musical arrangements. He was a percussionist in the Ripley high school band where he was part of the pit crew. He played every instrument in the pit crew. He wrote arrangements for the Ripley High School marching band throughout high school and helped with the band after he graduated. Logan attended college for music but discovered his calling for law enforcement. Logan also loved the Tennessee Vols to the point his family was convinced he would bleed orange. He was also a big St. Louis Blues Hockey fan and loved taking his wife and daughter to the games. Facial coverings or masks are not required but are recommended and social distancing is also encouraged. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Terry Benoist officiating. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church Cemetery in Ripley, Tennessee.
