Matthew Dale King

With heavy hearts but warm memories, we announce the passing of Matthew D King, fondly known as Matt, who left us on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on Saturday, April 7, 1945, to the late Matthew Charles and Nellie Marie (Adams) King.

He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Janet Sue (Winfield) King; brother, J.C. King; sisters, Joyce Tinsley, Betty Stafford, Glenda Halpin, and Dottie Francis Matt loved to watch westerns and especially enjoyed watching John Wayne. He loved spending time with his family. Matt is survived by his children; Richard King, Steven King and girlfriend Lucy Kerstetter, Tina Herron, Anna Mae Haynes, Glenda Kay Whaley; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, and 1 brother; along with many friends and family.

A private burial at Captain's Creek Cemetery will take place. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Homes-Wilson Chapel in Fredericktown.
