Maxine Lashley

Maxine (Turner) Lashley, age 77, of Irondale, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 5, 2023. She was born on Friday, November 30, 1945, in Salem to the late Paul and Mable (Montgomery) Turner.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Bailey, brothers, Larry and Eddie Turner; nephew, Michael Bailey; brother-in-law, Terry Butcher and special friend J.B. Stevens.

Maxine was a member of First Baptist Church of Irondale. She was the former owner of Happy Times Daycare for 21 years, where she loved taking care of children. She also enjoyed riding horses. She will be remembered for making the best chicken-n-dumplings every Sunday where she loved just being surrounded by her family and friends who were most important to her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Gerald “Sonny” Lashley; sons, Dave Lashley and wife Delanna, Rick Lashley; six grandchildren, Chris Lashley (Tabitha), Katie Lynch (Jared), Chelsie Lashley, Rikki Barker (Dave), John Lashley (Aaliyah), Hannah Montgomery (Chase); ten great-grandchildren; Levi, Grace, Callie, Blane, Cayden, Lane, Reid, Abby, Luke, and Owen; siblings, George Turner, Fred Turner, Annie Butcher, Brenda Fondon and Gina Blunt along with other friends and family.

Visitation will be held at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 9:00 AM until service time of 11:00 AM with Pastor Steve Voyles officiating. Burial to follow at Adams Cemetery in Frankclay.
