Merlin Schneider

Merlin Schneider age 90 of Bonne Terre fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church died June 25, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital. He was born August 2, 1920 to the late Alex John and Sophia (Zeitsmann) Schneider. Merlin is also preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Mary (Connor) Schneider; brother, Sylvester Schnieder; sister, Ethel McCurdyMerlin was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was extremely devoted and practiced daily commnuion, he was a 3rd degree Knight with The Knights of Columbus Councill 1088. Merlin served his country in WW II with the United States Army with the rank as Staff Sargent. He had tours in Germany and in France. Merlin is survived by his son Rev. John Schneider of Bonne Terre and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday 3 to 8 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre with a Prayer Service followed by a Video Tribute at 7 pm Tuesday evening. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Masses are preferred. Interment will be private at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemtery.
