With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael C. Compton, age 78, of Wildwood, Missouri, formerly of Frankclay, Missouri who departed this life on Friday, May 16, 2025. He was born on Saturday, July 13, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri. Mike was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose kindness and humor was appreciated by all who knew him.
Mike graduated from Leadwood High School and furthered his education at Flat River Junior College. He dedicated over 50 years of his career as an electrical engineer, serving various contractors in the field, with his final role at Kaiser Electric in St. Louis. He contributed to numerous construction projects in Missouri and across the country.
Mike pursued many activities throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, woodworking, and golfing in his spare time and after he retired. Mike also loved his adventures out West, where he delighted in the breathtaking mountain and scenery and the serenity of the mountains. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, who were a source of joy for him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen S. McGee Compton; son, Michael Scott Compton and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Jordan and Kyle Compton; father-in-law, Orville “Corky” McGee; along with family and many friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Compton and his mother-in-law, Melba (Rasnic) McGee.
A Celebration of Mike's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will come together to honor him and share stories of his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association or Shriners Hospitals for Children. Arrangements under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
