Nathan “Nate” Waibl, 44, of Farmington passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2023, in Washington County. He was born March 20, 1979, in Modesto, California to Michael and Lydia (Cates) Waibl. Nate proudly served his country in the United States Army and then went on to work at the Potosi Correctional Center where he currently served as a Lieutenant. He was a Christian and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and training hunting labs. He was involved with CERT and a member of CIT through his employment and was a firearms instructor as well as a Corrections Way Ambassador.
Nathan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nathan and Juanita Waibl; maternal grandfather, Bill Weaver; brother-in-law, Jason Goggin.
In addition to his parents, Nate is survived by his loving wife, Shelley (Goggin) Waibl; five children, Haley Jackson, Nathalya Waibl, Nathan B. Waibl, Allison Waibl, and Cooper Long; siblings, Michael Parker and wife, Stephanie, Dustin Waibl and wife, Lindsey; mother-in-law, Deborah Goggin (Les Miller) along with nieces, aunts, uncles, family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 17, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, April 18 from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son – Taylor Chapel with Chaplain Mark Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
