It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nedra Queen, 85, of Leadwood, who departed this life on December 27, 2025, at her cherished home. Born on February 5, 1940, in Bonne Terre, Nedra was the beloved daughter of the late Leo and Ruth (Sago) Eaton.
Nedra was an integral part of the Leadwood community and a dedicated member of the Leadwood Methodist Church. Her passions included nurturing her yard, collecting old bottles, and enthusiastically diving into her genealogy research and puzzles. She took great pride in her small town, which inspired her to author the book “The Early Days of Leadwood.” In addition, Nedra played a crucial role as a founding member of the Leadwood and surrounding communities Historical Museum, where her love for history and connection to the past profoundly impacted all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years, Larry Queen; son, Christopher Queen; two grandsons, Anthony and Adam Hammack; brother, Glenman “Ben” Eaton; and daughter in-law, Cheryl Queen.
Nedra is survived by her two children, Tianny Richardson and husband David, Kirk Queen and wife Jill; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Eaton (John Durnell); one sister in-law, Hannah Eaton and 2 nieces also survive.
A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
