Nellie Caroline Jaycox

Nellie Caroline (Reed) Jaycox passed away on January 31, 2016 in Brighton, Illinois at the age of 93 years. She was born on September 14, 1922 in Chloride, Missouri, the daughter of the late William and Lucy (Heifner) Reed. Nellie was united in marriage to Carl Kelly who preceded her in death, and to this union six children were born; Anita Cline of Edwardsville, Illinois, Ricky Kelley of Arkansas, Burlin Kelley, Russell Kelley, Gary Kelley, and Randell Kelley who all preceded her in death. Nellie was later united in marriage to Joe Jaycox who also preceded her in death in 1991. Nellie is survived by a sister, Alice Barton of Pilot Knob, Missouri; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Nellie was preceded in death by brothers Oscar, Omer, Elmer, Alvin, Leslie, Thomas, Paul, Russell, and Carl Reed and sisters Mary Joran and Mabel Ebert. Nellie was a member of the Belleview Assembly of God Church before moving to Illinois. Funeral services were held on February 3, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Melissa Thomas officiating. Visitation was held on February 2, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Interment was in the Huff Cemetery.
