Norma Jean Ferguson of Ironton, Missouri, passed away on January 6, 2026 at the age of 85 years. She was born June 11, 1940, in Yakima, Washington the daughter of the late Ernest and Katherine (Renich) Anderson.
Norma is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Ferguson. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage. Norma is survived by her three children: Brian Patterson of Louisville, Kentucky, Amy Patterson of Middlebrook, Missouri, and Mark Patterson of Erie, Colorado. Her marriage to Fergie blessed her with three bonus children: Randall Ferguson of Denver, Colorado, Sandra Ferguson, of Greeley, Colorado and Timothy Ferguson of Hot Springs, South Dakota. Norma was grandmother to five grandchildren: Hunter, Sydney, Travis, Shannon, and Joe and three great grandchildren: Aspen, Sophia and Taylor. She is a mourned by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by two brothers: Roger Anderson and Richard "David" Anderson and her sister Barbara June Trevithick.
Following her graduation from high school Norma earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Sioux Valley Hospital for many years. In addition to her work, she enjoyed caring for her family. She was a great cook and could fix almost anything. She loved flowers and enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. She had a deep love for animals and had many cats and dogs throughout her life. In her later years she has enjoyed adult coloring books.
Private graveside services will be held for family at Graniteville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
