Opal Ann Bryant

Opal Ann Bryant of Fredericktown, Missouri, passed away August 13, 2026, at the age of 81 years old. She was born on March 12, 1945, in Fredericktown, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Theodore Melvin and Margaret Leah (Swofford) Wright.

Opal graduated from high school and went on to become a nurse. Opal was a member of the Christian Church of Fredericktown and was a member of the Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts of America. She loved to sew, embroidery, and cook. She naturally cared for everyone. She would write letters or send handwritten messages in cards for birthdays and holidays. The thing she loved the most was spending as much time as possible with her family.

In addition to her parents, Opal was preceded in death by three sisters; Liz Buehner, Loma Skaggs, Kaye Spence, and Sally Pense.

Opal is survived by her husband Allen Bryant; children Thomas Cofer, Brian Cofer, Pete Cofer, James Cofer, Shelly Anderson, Grant Knox; 10 grandchildren; Fallon Davis, Ryan Cofer, Ashlee Matthews, Whitney Orf, Smantha Hoene, Katie Smith, Michael Weaver, Meagan Weaver, Stephanie Turnispeed-Wolfe, Noah Fox; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Pete Wright, Sybil Lynn, Mabel Westmorlan; special friends, Tammy Lewis, Lucille Watson, Kathy Knighton, and Dorothy Cofer. Several nieces and nephews and other family and friends also survive.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home-Wilson Chapel in Fredericktown on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Walt Wilburn. Inurnment will follow at Snowdenville Cemetery in Fredericktown. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or St. Jude’s.
