Listen to Obituary

Pastor Larry Greenfield, age 73, of Desloge Missouri, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his daughters and their children. He was born on January 11, 1953, in Wichita Kansas to Mary Jo and James Robert Greenfield. Larry lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service to others.

Larry’s love for God was the foundation of his life. As a pastor, he faithfully dedicated himself to ministry, spending decades leading, guiding, and loving people as he shared the Word of God. Through his unwavering faith and servant’s heart, he led countless souls to Christ and made a lasting impact on every life he touched. His life was a reflection of the peace, grace, and hope he so passionately preached.

He shared a beautiful 53-year marriage with the love of his life, Debbie, who preceded him in death three years ago. Their love was steadfast and inspiring, and he carried that love with him every day. While his family grieves his loss, they find comfort in knowing he is now joyfully reunited with her in Heaven, a reunion he had long looked forward to.

Above all else, Larry’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted father and an extraordinary “Papa,” a role he cherished deeply. His love for his children and grandchildren was immeasurable, and he made each one feel seen, valued, and endlessly loved. Whether through his words, his presence, or his quiet strength, he built a legacy of love that will live on for generations.

Larry also had a deep passion for books, a love he passed down to his children. He believed in the power of words, stories, and learning, and that passion became a part of the foundation he gave his family.

He is survived by his four children: Trisha (Joe) Campbell of Terre Du Lac; Larissa (Nick) Jennings of Desloge; Kaci (Ron) Roper of Desloge; and Jason (Stephanie) Greenfield of Dexter. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Josie (Arcangelo) Quitaneiro, Jase Campbell (Kylie Spivey), Jaxon Campbell (Ally Wigger), Grayson Jennings, Haven Jennings, Ellie Boatman (Gage Deblois), Emma Roper, Eli Roper, Emrie Roper, Wyatt Greenfield, and Braxton Greenfield; one great-granddaughter, London Greenfield; a brother Ricky (Debbie) Greenfield of Kansas; along with many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know and love him.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Debbie; his parents Mary Jo and James Robert Greenfield; a brother Martin Greenfield; and his beloved grandparents Gladys and John Garton-He deeply cherished preaching from his grandpa’s Bible, a treasured reminder of where his calling first began; along with many extended family member and friends.

Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of Jesus, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His legacy of faith, love, and devotion will continue to live on through all who knew him.

In honoring his wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
