Paul Wesley Bess

             Paul “Chief” Bess, age 93, of Park Hills passed away August 6, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Hospital. He was born on September 19, 1923 in Flat River to the late John and Viola (Phillips) Bess. Paul was a surveyor for St. Joe Lead Company, former Fire Chief of Flat River and a member of the Park Hills United Methodist Church. He was married to the love of his life for 73 years.

             In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Conway) Bess; three brothers, Charles, Bill and Bob Bess; a sister in infancy.
               

             Paul is survived by five children, Richard Bess and wife Sue, David Bess and wife Barb, Nancy, Robert and Daniel Bess; four grandchildren, Rich Bess and wife Crystal, Nikki Orr and husband Sam, Kristi Roundy and husband Kurt, Kerri Sturm and husband Jeromy; seven great-grandchildren, Chloe, Maisie and Ava Bess, Madison and Dawson Roundy, Taylor and Jonathan Sturm; two sisters, Virginia Hager and Betty Smith; and a special friend Bruce Walbert.

             Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Parkview Cemetery in Farmington with Rev. Eddie Bone officiating.  Memorial donations can be made to the donor’s choice in memory of Paul.
