Paula Diane Edgar

Paula Diane Edgar, 86, of Desloge, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Country Meadows. She was born Friday, June 18, 1937, to the late Rev. Paul Slyvester and Maxine Virginia (Cox) Skaggs in Desloge, Missouri. Paula was preceded in death by her late parents and her husband James A Edgar.

Paula pursued her education after her boys started school, first at Mineral Area College then at Southeast Missouri State University graduating with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. She taught second grade at Athena Elementary in the Desoto school district for 25 years. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Desloge. Paula was a founding member of the Greater Desloge Garden Club and a member of Missouri Retired Teacher Association. Paula and Jim loved to travel and had visited almost every state including Hawaii. They also loved camping for many years, but the love of her life was her only grandson Matthew James, he was her pride and joy. She loved him very much “My Heart Will Go On!

Paula is survived by her two sons James Michael “Cobb” Edgar and Alan Wayne “Ali” Edgar (Teresa); a very special grandson Matthew James Edgar and his special friend Clarisa Neth; her siblings Ronnie Skaggs (Joyce), her sister Sharon Smith (Tom). Also surviving are three special nieces, Denise Sebastian, Jennifer Sadler, and Julie Hill, five special nephews, Mike, Steve, Randy, Terry, and Danny Edgar and many family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Desloge Chapel on Wednesday February 7, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held at St. Francois Memorial Park Cemetery. View obituary and share condolences online at www.czboyer.com
