Peggy Wargo

Margaret “Peggy” Adele Wargo, 71, of Fredericktown, MO and previously Palatine, IL, passed away at home on Friday, April 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 15, 1954, in Waukegan, IL. She spent her early life enjoying her role as an Administrative Assistant at Buffalo Grove National Bank (where she met her husband Michael Wargo due to a water-in-machine incident) and later added the titles of wonderful wife and loving mother. She took pride in keeping an immaculate home that hosted many holidays, barbeques, and pool parties enjoyed by family and friends alike. Peggy was very artistic, leading to highly praised interior designs and beautifully designed garden beds. She was passionate about animals large and small, evidenced best by the seven furballs that surrounded and slept with her daily.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Michael Wargo, daughter Randi Sarun and her husband Rodrick Sarun, brother Mike Reckling, and countless loved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother Doris Wymer, stepmother Jackie Reckling, father Ralph Reckling, and brothers Dan and Jimmy Reckling.
