It is with a mixture of sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of Phillip "Phil" Leon Hollinger, who left this world on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the age of 71. Phil was born on Wednesday, June 9, 1954, in Bonne Terre to the late Lindell and Stacy (Rasnic) Hollinger. Phil was known for his warm spirit, great sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his work and family.

Phil retired after 20 years of faithful service at Costco in South County, where his versatility allowed him to thrive in various departments. His commitment to excellence and his willingness to lend a hand to co-workers made a lasting impact on those around him. An ardent lover of the outdoors, Phil found joy in camping, fishing, and capturing the beauty of nature through his photography. He was a proud member of the "Oh Baby Society," a spirited group of friends who created unforgettable memories during float trips on the Current River and Jacks Fork River just to name a few. Phil’s zest for life and fun will be cherished by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Donald Moore.

Phil is survived by his beloved sister, Linda Moore; brother, Stephan Hollinger; four nephews, Bryan Moore and wife Mary, Michael Moore and wife Sherry, Andrew Moore and wife Jackie, Matthew Moore and wife Ashley, several great nieces and nephews and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever. In a final act of kindness, Phil chose to be an organ donor, ensuring that he would continue to make a positive impact on the lives of others even in death.

Phil’s wishes were to be cremated. Memorials in Phil’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements entrusted under the care of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
